Hunter Intramural Soccer

The Hunter Intramural soccer program is for boys and girls between the ages of 3 and 18. Our in-house soccer program takes place between September and November.


ALL of our IM particpants are required to have the below Covid-19 Waiver signed by their parent/legal guardian:

2021 Fall Intramural Soccer Overview

The Hunter Intramural soccer program is geared towards the beginner player (at the Pre-K level) as well as older boys and girls who enjoy playing recreational soccer on a seasonal basis. We offer the most popular intramural soccer program in the Glenside - Abington - Cheltenham - Jenkintown area, with over 1,000 children enrolled annually.


The emphasis of our intramural program is foundational soccer skills development and an introduction to competitive match play. Hunter Soccer provides a safe and fun environment for your child to learn and enjoy the exciting game of soccer.


The intramural program runs from mid-September to mid-November.  Intramural teams are formed by the club at the end of August, who then play in an age/gender specific in-house league. Unlike travel soccer, teams do not normally travel to play against teams from other clubs.


Matches typically take place on Saturdays, except for our teen offering, Friday Night Lights. Teams also train during the week (with the exception of Pre-K players, who train and play on Saturdays). Intramural matches take place at fields in our local playing area.


The 2021 Fall Intramural soccer program will comprise four options:

The KickStarters progam is for Pre-K players ages 3 & 4. This is a fun and playful experience desgined to introduce children to the game of soccer. Practice and Games are played on Saturday mornings.


Registration is now OPEN for the Fall 2021 program for boys/girls with birth years of 2018 & 2017. The registration fee for KickStarters is $105.

The Player Development League (PDL) program is for players aged 5, 6, & 7. PDL is designed to teach children basic ball mastery skills and introduce small-side competitive play. The key features of PDL are:


  • Separate U6-U7-U8 Divisions
  • Separate Boys/Girls leagues
  • U6-U7 4v4 format
  • U8 7v7 format
  • U8 end of season indoor tournament
  • EPYS rules apply
  • Professional player training

At U8, players will be evaluated for interest and readiness to play travel soccer.


Registration is now OPEN for the Fall 2021 program for boys/girls with birth years of 2016, 2015, & 2014. The registration fee for Player Development League is $155.

The Championship League (CL) program is for players between 8 & 11 years old. CL is a competitive league designed to provide an experience similar to travel soccer, but without the added cost, level of commitment, and distance travel. The key features of CL are:


  • U9/U10 and U11/12 Divisions
  • Separate Boys/Girls leagues
  • Travel style uniforms
  • U9/10 7v7 format with standings & playoff
  • U11/U12 9v9 format with standings & playoff
  • EPYS rules apply

Friday Night Lights (FNL) is our popular recreational soccer offering for teens aged 12-18. The key features of FNL are:

  • Coed, age appropriate teams
  • Games played on Friday nights from 6-9 PM
  • 7v7 format
  • End of season tournament

2021 Intramural Program Fees & Refund Policies

The primary registration period will close on July 31st. The secondary registration period will run from August 1st-August 15th. During this period registrations will be accepted only if there are spots available based on program capacity.


The final day to register and request a voluntary removal from registration is Saturday 8/15


Refund of the 2021 Intramural registration fees will be granted as follows. There are no other exceptions:

  • If your child withdraws from KickStarters before June 1st - full refund minus $25 prodcessing fee 
  • If your child withdraws from the Player Development League or Championship League before June 1st - full refund minus $25 prodcessing fee 
  • After June 1st there are ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS.
  • Fall weather conditions may force the cancellation of some scheduled matches. HSC has no control over this and we cannot issues refunds due to match cancellations.
  • If the season gets cancelled due to Covid-19, all families will receive an appropriate refund!

Player Special Request Policy

Hunter Soccer understands that some players may want to play together on the same team, and we will attempt to accomodate reasonable requests to this end. Our new Player Special Request Policy is as follows:

  • The player of a volunteer coach will be automatically assigned to the parent coach's team.
  • HSC will permit siblings to play together on the same team within gender and age-limit guidelines of the respective league. In other words, we cannot put an 11 year old on the same team as their 8 year old sibling. We DO NOT automatically assign siblings to the same team. A parent will need to submit a PLAYER SPECIAL REQUEST for this.
  • HSC will permit friends to play together on the same team within gender and age-limit guidelines of the respective league. A parent will need to submit a PLAYER SPECIAL REQUEST for this.

The period to submit Player Special Requests will be May 15-July 15. During this time an online form will be activated for Special Request Submissions. A player must first be registered for Hunter Fall Intramural Soccer before a request wil be considered.


Special Requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and if approved, subject to a $25 Player Special Request Fee. Only Player Special Requests submitted through the official Hunter online form will be considered. Requests submitted by email WILL NOT be considered.


Please note that each volunteer coach will receive one FREE Player Special Request that they may use on their team.


Volunteer Coach Background Clearances


All Hunter Soccer Club coaches, assistant coaches, and team managers must submit valid Background Clearances to the club by using the new US soccer registration platform "GOTSOCCER". This applies to both Intramural and Travel coaches. There are NO EXCEPTIONS.


Volunteer coaches will receive a $25 discount.
